Four hundred pleats folded by hand across the skirt, then pressed over three days so they hold without a stitch. The pleat depth narrows toward the waist — that is what makes the silhouette read as one continuous line.

The cloth
Crisp and faintly transparent. It takes a pleat permanently, which is the whole point of using it — the shape is pressed in, not sewn in.

Care & preservation
Silk of this weight is cleaned by hand only. After the wedding we collect the gown, clean it in the salon and seal it in an acid-free box — included for the first year. Never store it on a hanger; the weight of the train will pull the shoulder seams within a season.
Delivery & timeline
From first fitting to final press is twenty-two weeks. Book at least seven months before the date so there is room for a second body change. Rush work is possible for a fee, but it costs the second fitting.
How this one is made.
Weeks 1–2
The count
The pleat count is set from your waist measurement, never from the pattern. Four hundred is the number for a 26-inch waist.
Weeks 3–11
Folding
Each pleat is folded, pinned and tacked. Two people, six hours a day.
Weeks 12–14
The press
Three days under weight and steam. Rushing this is why pleats fall out of other gowns.
Weeks 15–22
Fittings
Pleats are re-tacked at the waist after each fitting so the fan stays even.
